ZURU has confirmed that its new China headquarters will open in the Spring Bamboo tower in Nanshan, Shenzhen, one of the city’s tallest skyscrapers, with teams moving in at the start of 2027.
The company has taken eight floors totalling approximately 32,000 square metres, with floor plates of more than 4,000 square metres each. The space has capacity for around 3,000 ZURU team members, and there is room to expand as the company takes on more floors.
The headquarters will bring together teams from all three of ZURU’s businesses – ZURU Toys, ZURU Tech and ZURU Edge – spanning design, engineering, merchandising, finance, talent, project management, software, automation and more. For ZURU, it puts the people who design, engineer and commercialise the company’s brands on connected floors in the same building.
“We’ve spent 22 years building a rock star team in China, and they’re at the heart of everything we do,” commented Nick Mowbray, co-founder and ceo at ZURU. “Giving them an even more world-class environment to collaborate, create and keep pushing every tiny detail forward is something we’re hugely excited about. The next few years are shaping up to deliver huge growth, and this is the home that growth will be built from.”
The move marks how far ZURU has come in China. The company opened its first offices in the region in the early 2000s, and its second and third China offices date back to 2004 and 2005. Today ZURU is forecast to account for approximately 1% of Shenzhen’s GDP in 2027, which is a significant share for one of China’s largest and fastest growing city economies.
The Shenzhen headquarters is part of a wider programme of investment. ZURU says it will keep investing in factories, offices and showrooms around the world to support its global growth plans.
