Mechs vs. Minions has been relaunched in a distribution partnership between Hachette Boardgames UK and its original publisher Riot Games.

Hachette Boardgames UK has announced the exclusive distribution of Mechs vs. Minions in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Riot Games first released Mechs vs. Minions, a cooperative board game set in the League of Legends universe, 10 years ago. The game has been out of print since 2020, but has remained among BoardGameGeek’s Top 100 games even without a new printing. This December, Mechs vs. Minions returns to hobby retail with the new Bandle City Edition.

The Bandle City Edition is the same game that has held a Top 100 spot on BoardGameGeek since 2016. It reaches the table in under 15 minutes and goes away in five. The game features new art direction in the Bandle City palette, acrylic standees, integrated storage and mission dossiers you open one at a time. It has a smaller footprint and less plastic than the original, without cutting anything that matters at the table.

There’s the same 10-mission cooperative campaign, programming core and components that earned it cult status, such as hand-painted sculpted mechs, a hundred hand-washed minions, metal coins and a sand timer that actually runs. Riot built the original for the League of Legends community and this edition reproduces that, alongside two new additions including a solo puzzle pack and a set of skin cards.

The Bandle City Edition puts the mechs on the table as acrylic standees. This set delivers Tristana, Corki, Heimerdinger and Ziggs as the same sculpted miniatures found in the Classic Edition, delivered unpainted with a primer base coat so players can paint them their way. Customers can drop them straight into the Bandle City Edition in place of the standees or paint a second set for the Classic Edition. It includes four large, cleanly sculpted figures, plenty of flat surface and a game that will put them to work the same night they’re finished.

Flavien Loisier, CEO of Hachette Boardgames UK, said: “Mechs vs. Minions is a beautifully produced, incredibly entertaining game that has achieved grail game status in the gaming community in the ten years since its original release. As a gamer myself, I cannot wait to see it being played by newer generations of gamers. As an industry professional, I am incredibly proud our team is the one to bring this game to UK and Irish tables”
