British luxury knitwear brand John Smedley is taking its first steps into homeware through a new long-term partnership with fellow historic British textile mill, Abraham Moon & Sons.
The John Smedley x Moon collection brings the brands’ shared heritage in wool, British manufacturing and craftsmanship into the home.
Featuring throws and cushions inspired by the John Smedley archive, the collection is complemented by a chunky knit, scarf and hat produced by John Smedley in its Derbyshire mill.
The collection marks the first capsule in a long-term licensing partnership, extending John Smedley’s distinctive design language beyond knitwear and into interiors. It represents a significant step in the brand’s evolution towards a broader lifestyle proposition, while remaining rooted in its heritage, natural fibres and commitment to quality.
“John Smedley and Moon share generations of specialist knowledge, British manufacturing and a belief in creating beautiful products that are made to last,” commented Jess McGuire-Dudley, ceo at John Smedley. “As John Smedley takes its first step into homewares, we’re bringing the craftsmanship, natural fibres and quality that have defined us for more than two centuries into the home.”
The collection draws on wool sourced from the UK, New Zealand and South Africa, with products crafted across the two brands’ UK-based mills, which boast over 430 years of textile making heritage collectively.
Launching during Wool Month (October), the collaboration supports Campaign for Wool’s annual initiative to raise awareness of wool’s natural benefits, versatility and sustainability, celebrating its enduring role in fashion, interiors and everyday life.
