Art Ask Agency made its first appearance as part of the R & B Licensing family at Brand Licensing Europe this month, after the acquisition by Rights & Brands was announced earlier this year.
Art Ask Agency will change its name to R & B Licensing s.l. and continue its operations from Barcelona without interruption. The new branch of Rights & Brands will maintain its existing team, its close relationships with licensors and licensees, and its presence in the global licensing arena, as it has for the last 25 years, now reinforced by the partnership with Rights & Brands.
“Rights & Brands is the ideal partner for Art Ask Agency,” commented Maria Strid, founder and executive director at Art Ask Agency. “We share the same values, a deep respect for art-based licensing, and we are both family-owned businesses.”
Roleff Kråkström, founder and ceo at R & B Licensing AB, continued: “We are extremely proud to become the majority owner of Art Ask Agency. This transaction further strengthens our position as the leading global art, literature and design based licensing agency.”
The acquisition reflects Rights & Brands’ long-term strategy to build a strong, value-driven global licensing platform for cultural and art-based brands, and continues its strategic expansion after the opening of offices in the UK, Norway, Finland, Japan, Hong Kong and, most recently, the US.
Both parties have also agreed that Rights & Brands will become the full owner of the agency in a managed transfer over the next couple of years.
