Mind Candy – creator of the Moshi Monsters brand – has partnered with Pocket Realm to develop and distribute a new Moshi Monsters trading card game as the franchise returns for a new generation.

Pocket Realm will create a trading card game that brings Moshi’s characters, humour and world into play, alongside cards designed to be collected and traded. The partnership also covers physical and digital gift cards.

The first trading card release is planned for the UK in spring 2028, with a wider international roll out to follow.

Trading cards were a much-loved part of the original Moshi Monsters phenomenon. More than 170 million Moshi cards were sold, giving fans a way to collect their favourite characters and share the world of Moshi with friends.

“The original Moshi Monsters trading cards were such a beloved memory of so many childhoods in the 2010s,” commented Ross MacLeod, chief commercial officer at Mind Candy. “In relaunching them, it’s been so important for us to work with a partner with a vision for creating a beautiful, truly compelling product in this space, not just another licensed product.

“In Pocket Realm, we’ve found the perfect partner for that vision, and we’re delighted to be working together to make something we know our fans will love and collect with as much joy as the originals.”

Danielle Brazier, ceo at Pocket Realm, continued: “Moshi Monsters is a fantastic fit for trading cards. Its much-loved characters and expansive world will give children and first-generation fans so much to discover, play with and collect. With an ambitious franchise relaunch underway and growing enthusiasm for trading card games and character-led collecting, it’s an exciting time to bring Moshi back to the category. We’re delighted to be working with Mind Candy as Moshi enters its next chapter.”

The cards form part of a major Moshi Monsters relaunch spanning a new online game, TV animated series, YouTube content series, music and consumer products.
