Louis Vuitton has hired Hector Muelas, global chief brand and creative officer of Tiffany & Co., for a newly created role of chief brand creative officer, WWD reported Friday.
Muelas will start Nov. 1 and reports to Damien Bertrand, deputy CEO of Louis Vuitton, according to the report. Louis Vuitton said Muelas will “define and steer our creative storytelling across all touch points.”
Bertrand said Muelas will oversee all of the brand’s campaigns, according to the report. Two existing teams will move under him: art buying, led by Magena Chansarel, and the content factory, led by Carole Fuchs.
Louis Vuitton and Tiffany are both owned by LVMH, so the move means Muelas will remain within the luxury group.
Muelas has held his post at Tiffany since August 2023. He previously worked at LVMH as global vice president of content and creative from 2015 to 2019, according to FashionUnited.
His earlier jobs include chief brand officer at Rimowa, where he led the brand’s global relaunch and repositioning. According to his LinkedIn profile, Muelas also worked at Vice Media, Canal+, Creative Artists Agency, and Wieden+Kennedy.
When he joined Tiffany, Muelas said: “I’m humbled to be a part of this iconic house, and to continue building its legacy alongside some great old and new friends.”
LVMH has not yet publicly named a successor for Muelas’ position at Tiffany.
