William Lamb Group’s Jonathan Tillery discusses the value of combining strong licences with great product and sharp retail execution, as well as goals for 2027.

LicensingSource.net catches up with a selection of licensees across key categories to find out their summer success stories, what they see as the highlights and challenges as we enter the ‘golden quarter’ of 2026 and their main goals for 2027.

Today: Jonathan Tillery, ceo, William Lamb Group.

“Summer delivered some real wins – and for once, the weather understood the assignment of consistency. Our Toy Story Jessie footwear collection being nominated in The Licensing Awards was a fantastic moment for the team, while new programmes with partners such as FOCO on football have proved the value of combining strong licences with great product and sharp retail execution.

Heading into the golden quarter, the opportunity is huge, but consumers are more selective. Licensed product must feel fresh, relevant and good value. A logo or history alone won’t cut it.

Our goal for 2027 is simple: remained disciplined and turn more great ideas into bigger, scalable retail programmes with the right licences, the right partners and product that genuinely stands out.”
