Tine de Betue, account manager, art stories at Belgian publishing house, Standaard Publishers, on why the René Magritte brand has global potential.

“Where better to connect with the most relevant people in the business, establish commercial and creative ties across sectors and learn from the IP trendsetters of today?” says Tine de Betue, account manager, art stories at Belgian publishing house, Standaard Publishers, about BLE.

Tine believes the company has something to offer “that not many other brands do”: “René Magritte was one of the great painters of the 20th century, a man whose vision pushed visual boundaries and who fundamentally changed modern art. His legacy combines truly creative and inspired works that stimulate curiosity with a quite commercial touch, contrary to what many people might think at first.”

Tine says that the IP has global potential, especially with some high profile exhibitions coming up – Monaco in 2027, an eight-month stint in Kyoto and Yokohama in Japan in 2029 and a confirmed exhibit at London’s Royal Academy in 2033.

Tine continues: “Thanks to Magritte’s appeal, we’ve already had many successful collaborations with brands and retailers in the past, as you can admire in a lookbook that we’ve created for the occasion. Now it’s time for us to take that next step forward and level up. Our foremost goal as a debutant at BLE will be to make friends and influence people with what we have.”

René Magritte will be exhibiting on stand C293 at Brand Licensing Europe, from 6-8 October at London’s Excel.
