Fans of antici…pation can finally stop waiting: the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has launched a Kickstarter campaign to produce the first-ever bobbleheads based on “The Rocky Horror Show.”

The collection features seven bobbleheads based on the original 1973 stage production that inspired the cult film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

Six characters — Rocky, Brad, Janet, Magenta, Riff Raff and Columbia — are available through the standard campaign, while a Kickstarter-exclusive Dr. Frank N. Furter bobblehead is available only to campaign backers.

The bobbleheads are produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of “The Rocky Horror Show.”

Phil Sklar, co-founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, said the project was designed as a tribute to the show’s devoted following.

“We’re excited to launch this Kickstarter campaign to produce the first Rocky Horror Show Bobbleheads celebrating the iconic characters that so many people have come to know and love,” Sklar said. “These bobbleheads are the perfect way for fans of ‘Rocky Horror’ to show off their love for their favorite characters.”

The exclusive bobblehead depicting Dr. Frank N. Furter is only available to those who take part in the current Kickstarter campaign.

The Dr. Frank N. Furter bobblehead stands on a red circular base bearing his name and a bobbling “Rocky Horror” logo. The figure wears the character’s signature look, consisting of a black corset, fishnet stockings, black briefs, a pearl necklace and high-heeled platform shoes.

The figure also serves as a tribute to actor Tim Curry, who originated the role of Dr. Frank N. Furter onstage before reprising it in his film debut in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Curry died Aug. 25 at age 80.

The Kickstarter campaign has a goal of $15,000 and runs from midnight Central time Sept. 25 through midnight Central time on Halloween, Oct. 31 — fittingly, the one night of the year when showing up in fishnets draws fewer stares than usual.

As any Rocky Horror fan would expect, the campaign has pulverized its goal, having already pulled in over $38,000 at time of writing this article, and with almost a month left to go.

The bobbleheads are priced at $30 each, plus shipping, with other exclusive add-ons also available. Fans who want to support the campaign without ordering a bobblehead can contribute as little as $1 through the campaign page.

Organizers said a limited number of bobbleheads will be produced based on demand from the campaign, and backing the campaign is the only way to obtain the exclusive Dr. Frank N. Furter bobblehead.

Feature: When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Licensing

“The Rocky Horror Show” premiered at London’s Royal Court Theatre in June 1973, created by actor and writer Richard O’Brien, whose love of B-movie science fiction and horror films shaped the production’s campy style. The show grew from a small fringe production into a cultural phenomenon, leading to the 1975 film adaptation and decades of stage revivals around the world.

In 2005, the Library of Congress selected “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” for preservation in the National Film Registry as a culturally, historically or aesthetically significant work.

The film marked its 50th anniversary in 2025 with events in Los Angeles and remains in limited theatrical release more than 50 years after its premiere. It is officially the longest-running theatrical release in film history; the Energizer Bunny of midnight movies.
