Father Marchena

Father Marchena is another monk from the Monastery of Rebida. While at the same time both hard and soft-hearted, he feels much sympathy for Christopher. He does much to help him by putting him in contact with the Duke of Medina Sidonia to afford financing for the eventual voyage of the young genoese sailor.

The Duke Medina Sidonia

Duke Sidonia is a very important and influential person. He is very aristocratic, but he is also rather willing to listen to Christopher’s proposal.

The Duke Medina Geli

Duke Geli is even more important than the Duke Medina Sidonia. He is a very hard and rigid man, but sometimes kind and affable at the same time.
