Ep.2 A WILD AMBITION The second wife of Snow White’s father turns out to be not only an evil, selfish, ambitious woman (who loves to squander money, with a taste for fine clothes and jewelry), but also one who dabbles in sorcery while her husband risks his life in the war… When Chrystel realizes that Snow White’s nanny, Molly, wants to protect the girl from the cruel intentions of her stepmother, she makes her life impossible, finally dismissing her from the castle altogether so that the young princess remains entirely at her mercy. Chrystel’s only confidant is a peculiar bat; also, she has a magic mirror to which she continually asks the question: “mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all...” |
Ep.3 A MEETING ON A SUNNY DAY After dismissing Molly, Snow White’s kind, faithful nanny and lady in waiting, Chrystel feels she holds all the reins of power. Thus, she so decides to host a banquet enabling her to overtly flaunt her beauty. During the banquet, Snow White meets Richard, Prince of Albertville, with whom she immediately strikes up a firm friendship at the beginning based on a mutual love for Nature and the animal kingdom. In fact, Richard is delighted to play with Snow White’s pets and talk about his horse, Alexander, while all the other guests compliment the girl on her beauty. However, one day, after questioning her magic mirror, Chrystel is horrified to learn that she is no longer the most beautiful one of all, and worse, that Snow White has now been awarded this trophy. Enraged by this new, she banishes Snow White to her room, never to leave. |
Ep.4 THE PROMISE WAS KEPT Snow White disobeys her stepmother’s orders, escapes from her room, and accompanies Richard en route to his own castle. In so doing, she then meets Richard’s father, Count Robert of Albertville, Governor of the County, who praises the generosity and the courage of King Conrad (Snow White’s father). When Snow White returns home she is (of course) punished by her stepmother who, once again, sends her to her room; only this time, she makes her stay there all winter long, thereby never giving her an opportunity to consort with Richard. When spring finally comes, Snow White at last sees Prince Richard again. He tells her he is about to leave on a long journey to foreign lands because his father has taken ill and has appointed him to lead the county in his place and carry out the commitments that were formerly assumed by his father. The young prince and princess proceed to talk together in private, telling each other about their mothers, who both died one sunny summer day. Richard gives Snow White a brooch, and in return, she gives him a green bow for (his) hair. Meanwhile, Chrystel consults her mirror once again, however, the verdict does not change; she finds her beauty is still surpassed by that of Snow White. |
Ep.5 A CHANCE FOR LOVE AND HOPE After having been separated from Richard who has set out on a long journey, Snow White tries to live happily in the castle. However, Chrystel, having since discovered that her beauty is now dwarfed by that of the girl, is put into such a state of anguish that she commissions a hunter named Samson to kill Snow White. The next day she enacts her evil plan by persuading Snow White to take a walk in the woods with the hunter to see a newborn fawn. But when they reach the woods, the hunter then has second thoughts as to whether he will assassinate Snow White, as he realizes that had his daughter Louise lived, that she would now be about the same age as the princess…. And so, with this thought in mind, the hunter then saves the life of Snow White when she is attacked by a wild bear. Having accomplished this, the man then allows Snow White to go free, having revealed her stepmother’s diabolical plan, and having convinced her not to return to the castle. Her heart overflowing with sorrow, Snow White starts to run through the wood as fast as she can without paying any attention as to which direction she is headed, for she realizes that it would not be safe to return to the castle. |
Ep.6 THE SEVEN DWARFS Snow White’s stepmother is delighted, for she believes the hunter to have eliminated the girl once and for all, when in fact Snow White is actually wandering through the woods, trying desperately to understand why Chrystel would want her killed. Snow White is then befriended by a little squirrel called Piki who leads her into a log cabin. Exhausted, Snow White enters the little house, eats some bread, and overtaken by sleep. However, when the seven dwarfs who own the house return home and are shocked by the presence of an intruder, they are thrown into a quandary…. Some of them want to send Snow White away, while others would like her to stay. In the end, those who want her to stay win out. |

Ep.7 A NEW FAMILY Snow White settles into her new, peaceful, happy life with the seven dwarfs and, little by little, learns more about each and every one of them (thanks to Jolly): Gourmet is an excellent cook, Goldie is always criticizing everything, Camomile is an expert in mushrooms and medicinal herbs, while Woody makes a bed just the right size for her. At first, the only thing marring Snow White’s happiness is Woody’s behavior, for he is always very nasty and abrupt with her. But in the end, she discovers that the reason for his attitude is that he is, in fact, very shy and overly sensitive. |

So as not to be left out, Jolly gives Snow White a bunch of flowers. The girl finds them to be so enchanting, she asks him to take her to the place where he picked them. As Snow White and Jolly search for the field of flowers, they lose their way, but, luckily, the other dwarfs come looking for them and arrive just in time to stop them from falling off a precipice. Jolly then learns Snow White has lost the Brooch Richard had given her, but fortunately, Piki the squirrel is able to find it thanks to the magic flowers of hope, which fill hopeless hearts with strength and courage. |
Ep.9 MEETING UNDER THE STARS Snow White tells Piki, the squirrel, about her friends... The dwarfs are then frightened when Jolly announces he has seen a huge man walking in the woods that surround their house and the mine. In reality, the huge man is Samson the hunter. He has found Snow White’s pets Milk, Pocket and Cucù (who has an injured wing), after they have fled from the castle in search of their friend, the princess. Samson gives the three little animals shelter, treats Cucù’s injury, and then wants to reunite them with the girl. However, at first, the seven dwarfs are afraid he has been sent by Chrystel to kill her, but the misunderstanding is cleared up, and Snow White is finally reunited with her pets. Snow White then asks Samson if she has received any letters at the castle, and he informs her that he did in fact see a messenger riding in that direction. |

Unfortunately, things do not go according to plan, and the sudden arrival of the stepmother’s guards foil Jolly’s attempt to get his hands on the letter. In the meantime, Vet does everything possible to make sure Snow White does not notice that the three heroes are missing. But the princess suspects something has happened to them and, sick with worry, runs out of the all-concealing fog in the forest so that she is then seen and pinpointed by her step mother’s mirror. In the meantime, her stepmother prepares a potion that magically transforms into a ribbon, and has this delivered to Snow White at the house of the seven dwarfs.
