| Episode 1— The Rock on the Train Tracks A train full of fruit passes the train station just like every year where a cockroach and his ant-helper joyously are waiting to greet it. A while after the train departs from the station, an enormous rumble then catches their attention. A landslide has caused a rock to fall onto the train tracks so that the fruit-filled train can’t reach the other animals, placing them in danger of passing the winter with no food. In the end, it isn’t force that triumphs, but rather ingenuity: the enormous rock will be reduced to bits, and the train conductor can then continue his journey, for after a fire had been lit on the rock, the sudden throwing of cold water created a reaction causing it to break apart.
One day the fly and the spider hatch a plan to steal the honey from the Bees’ warehouse. The fly, pretending to be injured, asks the bee-guard to help him. The later appears wary, but the fly manages to get him to concede and pass the night under the canopy of the warehouse, protecting him from the oncoming thunderstorm. Moreover, the fly succeeds in convincing the bee to place securely in the warehouse a rare piece of musk in a bag. During the night, the fly then sneaks himself in the warehouse and empties the bag of the precious musk, then accuses the fly of haven stolen it the next day. The bee vehemently affirms his innocence, but the fly, enraged, declares that he will appeal to the forest tribunal, requesting all the large honey containers of the warehouse in exchange for the loss of the precious musk.
Thanks to an plan previously conceived between the fly and the spider, the trial seems to lean in their favour. However, the brother of the accused bee, convinced of his innocence, won’t surrender to the idea that his sister is a thief and starts his own in-depth investigation. Episode 4— The Trial (3rd part) When the Judge decides to enact his sentence, commanding the bee to compensate the spider and the fly with ten large jars of honey, the bee’s brother asks the judge to do one last test, before passing out the definitive sentence: to do a mould of both the spider and the fly with and without a copy of the missing musk. The form of the resulting moulds are then completely different, proving the fly and spider’s lie. Both are then sentenced accordingly. Episode 5— The Little Genius While busy, the ants ask the stag beetle for the usual help to come assist them in transporting the provisions that had accumulated, while one little ant is off busying herself with ropes and pulleys. This little ant is then approached by the other ants who laugh at her when they come to find out how she’s preparing to load her supplies. However, in the end, when they notice the great amount of work accomplished by the little ant, the other ants compliment her along with the stag beetle.
A contest of strength is announced among the animals where everyone will have to lift a weight heavier than their own. The elephant and the cockroach seem to be in close competition— the elephant lifts a rock twice his own weight, so the cockroach, in response, asks to lift a weight just as heavy, to the surprise of everyone present. The turtle reveals that the cockroach is a robot that he’d constructed in order to prove that a sharp mind can do much more than brute force alone. Episode 7— The Mysterious Fire Spotty and Yellow are waiting for professor Garland to arrive in order to make an experimental airplane kept in their lab operational. Professor Garland will bring a pair of special lenses with him that have the capacity to capture solar rays and convert them to energy enabling the plane to fly. While waiting, Spotty and Yellow try to kill some time and set out to collect flowers from their garden to put in the water-filled vase on the window. Suddenly, a voice is heard from the lab yelling “ Fire!! Fire!!” The two then find a racoon holding a matchbox near the destroyed plane!
Not surprisingly, the racoon is the principal accused, though he denies any responsibility. Spotty and Yellow accuse him, but Professor Garland believes the racoon, saying that they must wait for the guilty party to be revealed in time. The following day, the professor urges his friends to cease going ahead with the work at the lab when another fire suddenly ignites. They rush to the scene, but the one responsible is gone without a trace, as the cause is discovered to be a vase full of water serving as a solar ray lense which triggered the fire!
One afternoon, while reading the paper, four ants, one red, one brown, one black, and one white, discover in a nearby village, a large arena set to host a significant boxing match. They decide to go, and the red ant goes to get his motorcycle to get there first. Impatiently, the black ant then decides along with the brown and black ants, to set out immediately on his motorcycle. The two motorcycles engage in a close race all the way there, and the black ant, having arrived at a slope, almost catches up with the red ant. The black ant then decides to boot his passengers off to increase his speed and beat his comrades to the finish line. In spite of being heavier due to the weight of the other two ants he’d picked up off the road, the red ant’s motorcycle still arrives first. The red ant will then explain to the other ants that being heavier was the very reason they managed to get there first. Episode 10— The Treasure Commissioned by the wolf, the fox sets out to snatch some chicks, but just as he’s about to get his paws on them, hears one chick tell him that they’ve got a great treasure of strength and wisdom inside the bag they’ve brought. The fox lets the chicks go and seizes the bag. When the wolf then notices that the bag only contains books, he is disappointed and chases the fox. The rabbit and the squirrel, who understand that the books are in fact the treasure of strength and wisdom, seize their opportunity, though the bear is not very convinced. Using a trick, the fox then steals some fish caught by his friends, but the wise squirrel will later discover her. The rabbit sets out to retrieve the fish that the fox and the wolf had taken, but is then captured by the two thieves who are running away with the loot. The rabbit, meanwhile, yells out for help. The bear, hearing his cry, can’t tell where the yell came from. The squirrel, however, hones in on the source of the yell, and tells the bear to throw a rope toward the ravine, but the bear says that it’s no good since it isn’t long enough. In the end, they throw the rope anyway, and the squirrel’s theory is proven true. The squirrel had read a book stating that one only needs to calculate the speed of sound in order to ascertain a given distance. The fox steals the bear’s honey to use it as bait to attract the three friends in a trap…
The fox and the wolf have taken down the lightning rod that the squirrel had put up. The rabbit that had seen the fox bringing the pot of honey to the wolf’s den admonishes the bear that he should go get it back. But the den of the wolf is impregnable, and not even the bear can succeed in getting in. The squirrel, who spies an oncoming thunderstorm, erects the lighting rod on top of the wolf’s den, hoping lightning will strike it. This way, the roof of the wolf’s den would be clearly penetrated. From that moment on, the bear will become an ardent reader, realising the squirrel had learned his trick through reading.
The season to collect ripe fruit has arrived, and the ants are in full gear, as are their enemies. While looking for a way to transport some of the larger fruits, one ant gets captured by the spider. The battle to free him from the spider’s web is long and difficult. Fortunately, one of the ants notices a dragonfly, and then figures out a solution. With his knack for invention, the ant then succeeds in constructing an aircraft. In this way the ants will succeed in freeing their captured friend from the spider, as well as in transporting the largest, heaviest fruits to their nest.
